YLI's College Scholarship Essay Contest
"Winning a college scholarship was an unexpected bonus!" - Past YLI Graduate
In addition to sponsoring YLI, the Overland Park Rotary Club Foundation sponsors YLI’s College Scholarship Essay Contest. The contest is open only to graduates of YLI. Since only current YLI graduates can enter the contest, each recent graduate has an excellent chance of winning one of three (3) scholarships.
The authors of the three (3) best essays will be awarded college scholarships:

The essay will give you the opportunity to exhibit the skills you developed during YLI, demonstrate your understanding of leadership concepts, and utilize your creative mind. Specifically, the essay will focus on applying the Rotary 4 - Way Test in an interesting and imaginative way.
All essays are judged on content, originality, organization, writing skills and resource material employed by a panel of three independent judges. Contest winners will be announced during the Overland Park Rotary Club's Annual YLI Recognition Day luncheon honoring all YLI 2008 participants. The luncheon will be held in the fall of 2008 and co-hosted by YLI's sponsor, the Overland Park Rotary Club Foundation.
