Overland Park Rotary Foundation

The Overland Park Rotary Club Foundation (“Foundation”) is a not-for-profit Kansas corporation, which supports the efforts of The Rotary Club of Overland Park, Kansas (“Club”) as a chapter of Rotary International ("Rotary") to promote peace, understanding and goodwill among people through local humanitarian and educational programs. The Foundation is supported by voluntary contributions from its members, friends and a portion of the proceeds derived from the Club’s co-sponsorship of Overland Park’s annual July 4th Star Spangled Spectacular.

Overland Park Rotary Club

The Overland Park Rotary Club is a local chapter of Rotary International. The Club members represent a cross-section of local business and professional men and women. Together, Club members raise thousands of dollars annually for local charitable causes and their own Foundation by volunteering their time and talent in co-sponsoring the July 4th Star Spangled Spectacular for the City of Overland Park, Kansas on the grounds of Corporate Woods’ office park, demonstrating Rotary’s mission and motto of SERVICE ABOVE SELF.

Rotary International

Rotary International is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 32,000 Rotary clubs located in 200 countries and geographical areas. Rotary and its affiliate Clubs world wide carry out hundreds of humanitarian projects to address issues of poverty, health, literacy, hunger, national disaster relief and education.

Rotary’s Foundation is known as the world’s largest private provider of international education scholarships. The Foundation funds more than 1,000 students annually to study overseas and act as cultural ambassadors. Rotary also partners with eight (8) prestigious universities around the globe to educate mid-career professionals in peace and conflict resolution.

PolioPlus is Rotary’s flagship program. Rotary club members worldwide have contributed over $600 million and countless volunteer hours to help immunize over two billion children against polio. Rotary's partners in this Global Polio Eradication Initiative include the World Health Organization, Rotary International, U.S. Centers for Disease Control Prevention, and UNICEF.

Founded in Chicago in 1905 as the world’s first volunteer service organization, Rotary quickly expanded around the globe. Clubs meet weekly for fellowship to discuss local and global topics. Clubs are non-religious, non-governmental, and open to every gender, race, culture, and creed.
