How to Apply for YLI!
Who Can Apply?
Applicants for YLI need to:

Be an incoming junior or senior for the 2008-2009 school year at a Kansas City area high school |

|
Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better |

|
Commit, in writing, to attend all five days of YLI Leadership Training Sessions including the Orientation Bar-B-Q. |
Application Requirements
The application process requires completion of three separate items:
First, A three page YLI Application form requesting personal data of yourself and your parents or legal guardian.
Second, A brief personal Resume’ highlighting your academic achievements, extra curricular pursuits, work and/or community service experiences and explaining why you are interested in YLI.
Third, A School Staff Report, which is to be completed by your Counselor or Faculty Member and separately mailed directly to our YLI Program Coordinator, in support of your application.
Application and Staff Report and Recommendation forms can be obtained from your High School Counselor’s Office or downloaded from this site.
Application Due Date
Applications are DUE on or before MAY 1, 2008. YLI 2008 has room for only 50 participants. We urge you to apply early. Applications will be considered in the order received. Students who have been selected to participate in YLI will be notified by U.S. Mail.
YLI Tuition Costs
YLI's all inclusive tuition cost is $175.00. Tuition must be paid in cash or personal check made payable to the “Overland Park Rotary Club Foundation” following your receipt of notice of your selection for YLI.
All meals, supplies, use of Wildwood's confidence course and bus transportation for field trips are included in your tuition fee. Applicants requiring financial assistance should contact YLI Program Coordinator, Susan Keim.
