Dear Student, Parent, Teacher or Counselor,
YLI is the Youth Leadership Institute. We are in our 16th year of helping high school students become leaders in their
schools and communities. We are quite proud of our program and graduates, for three main reasons:
First, YLI's exciting program was developed by professionals. The activities are built on active learning to keep you
involved during the entire week. YLI is also facilitated by professionals. Not only are they experts at adaptive leadership,
but also they are experienced at teaching and guiding students to help them learn and have fun at the same time.
Second, YLI is engaging. You will meet and interact with leaders in professional roles from all over Kansas City and have
the unique opportunity to socialize and learn with students from around the KC metro area.
Third, YLI is fun! We get great feedback from students and parents. I invite you to read through the Testimonials to see
what they have said. We survey both the graduates and their parents after each YLI program to ensure the program was
enjoyable, interesting and valuable.
YLI is sponsored by the Overland Park Rotary Club Foundation with assistance in cooperation with Johnson County Community
College. As you can tell, the Overland Park Rotary Club and JCCC work hard to ensure YLI is a useful and enjoyable
